Flamengo’s 2003/04 season was a difficult and unstable period, defined by financial struggles, managerial turnover, and battles to avoid relegation.

In 2003, Flamengo endured a disastrous Campeonato Brasileiro, finishing 20th out of 24 teams and only narrowly avoiding relegation. Despite the presence of players like Felipe, André Santos, and Edílson, inconsistency and defensive frailty plagued the side.

The situation didn’t improve much in 2004, though Flamengo did find some stability late in the campaign under Abel Braga, eventually finishing 17th. The club’s saving grace that year was winning the Campeonato Carioca, defeating Vasco da Gama in the final — a bright spot in an otherwise bleak stretch.

Overall, 2003/04 was a survival era for Flamengo, keeping the club afloat during one of its toughest modern periods.
